My Journey Into Massage & Skincare

My journey into alternative wellness therapies started in 2008 after I was laid off in the mortgage industry. Mortgages was such a fast-paced and stressful work environment and it was so difficult to make people happy! I knew after I was laid off I no longer wanted this lifestyle. I wanted something slower and less stressful. I wanted an opportunity to help people and make them feel good! I always had an interest in alternative medicine and when I toured the NV School of Massage Therapy it just felt right.

Right after massage school, I enrolled in Euphoria’s School of Beauty esthetics program. I loved how skincare and massage complemented each other so well. Then in 2010, I did something I thought I’d never do, I opened up my own practice inside a small room at Sola Salons.

How I Fell In Love With Holistic Skincare

A few years ago I had the pleasure of training with Angela from Wholistic Skin + Care. I loved her skincare philosophy of “no flow, no glow.” She uses no machines, or peels in her esthetic practice but instead focuses on mindful touch and stress relief. She taught me healthy, vibrant skin, begins at the cellular level and is the result of the healthy circulation of nutrient-rich blood, lymph, and vital life energy. (Referred to as qi in Traditional Chinese Medicine).

As a massage therapist, I already incorporated massage techniques into my facials, but I didn’t fully understand the full benefits for the skin until I dived into holistic skincare. Although I still love and use beauty tools such as microcurrent and ultrasonic, I decided to make massage, and other techniques such as gua sha a focal point in many of my facials.

Since then I’ve been honored to also train with other gurus in the holistic skincare field. Dr. Ping Zhang, an acupuncturist with over 20 years of experience in oriental medicine and the creator of Nefeli Gua Sha, and facial reflexologist Jackie Van Ruler from the Mind Body Beauty Institute. I’ve also taken world-renowned Yokov Gershkovich’s facial sculpting course and studied Thai Herbal Poultice Massage at CJB Beauty Secrets.

Exploring Ayurveda Nutrition & Digestive Health

In the fall of 2022, I started my Ayurveda nutrition and digestive coach certification. I’d always had an interest in nutrition and knew it played a crucial role in health and skin. Because almost all disease starts in the gut I thought focusing on digestive health was a beautiful place to start.

I love Ayurveda, because just like other ancient medicine such as Traditional Chinese Medicine it focuses on finding the root cause of dis-ease and imbalances. This differs from Western medicine which focuses on reducing symptoms.

Ayurveda also takes a holistic approach. Recognizing health is not just physical, but also mental, emotional, and spiritual. I’m excited to bring this ancient knowledge to my massage and skincare clients.

I hope I can help you fall in love with holistic self-care as much as I have.

Las Vegas Gua Sha Facial

“Ayurvedic wisdom holds that providing the skin with the purest nourishment possible not only allows for total self-correction of the skin, but also has profound healing effect on the entire person.”
